Madaket is a SaaS provider focused on reducing administrative waste in U.S. healthcare. In efforts to provide valuable
solutions to the chaos that resulted from the institution of the No Surprises Act, Madaket created their Provider Data
Exchange platform, allowing healthcare providers to attest to their professional information as the law requires.
But a problem still existed. Accurate data is no good to anyone if patients seeking care cannot access it! A new and
full-featured provider directory would need to be created that can be marketed to insurers as a lower-cost, accurate and
evergreen solution to the extra challenges they faced under these new government requirements.
There are many competing directory services available to healthcare insurers, but none that have the ability to communicate and rely upon their own providers to correct and attest to their information. Aside from what the Madaket PDX platform offers, a directory needs to be competitive or superior to their existing directory service. After evaluating the top 10 directory services in use, a set of required and desired features were compiled:
Utilizing Lean Startup Methodology, we began to discuss features with potential users to help us determine capabilities necessary within a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). From there, we ranked all the features we wanted to build based upon this feedback and compared it against what was available in competitive products, reranking as necessary to meet or beat competitive performance. This helped us to focus on designing the features and experience for our new directory. It also aided us in defining a long-term roadmap for further iteration and improvements.
With the promise of accurate and constantly updating provider data giving a competitive advantage from the Madaket PDX
platform, we were thrilled to find an initial healthcare insurer that had need of the developing solution. With further
input based on their needs and ability to review their existing data, we were able to further hone in on a launch featureset,
and validate designs and features with the providers in their network.
The first launch of this white-labeled solution is for Health Payment Systems and can be found online at https://www.hps-findcare.com.
